Just when we think we couldn’t love HubSpot any more than we already do, the marketing guru outdoes itself once again! Ring the alarm, because they have taken a deep dive into the world of Sales, and it’s sure to be a big splash!

HubSpot recently released an official announcement at their annual Inbound Conference in Boston, Massachusetts regarding some serious upgrades to their CRM & SideKick platforms. Let’s just say, they are nothing short of pure awesomeness!

For those unfamiliar with the platforms, here’s the quick lowdown:

  • HubSpot CRM: An easy-to-use intuitive CRM system that handles ALL of the little details, so your sales team has more valuable selling time! HubSpot CRM gives you everything you need to store contacts and companies, track deals, and manage tasks easily, while getting a 360 degree view of the people who matter most to your company from your dashboard.

  • Sidekick: Sidekick connects to both your inbox and your CRM system, providing detailed insights about the contacts and companies you meet and work amongst. The goal is to streamline the sales process and effectively sell products and services.

It’s truly exhilarating to witness the announcement of these rapid additions and upgrades to the HubSpot platform. Their goal to fulfill their vision of making HubSpot an easier to use, better integrated, and more powerful tool for us marketers is unmissable.

So, without further ado, let’s jump to the good stuff! Here are the recent changes HubSpot has announced to their CRM & Sidekick platforms:

1. Rebuilt the Prospect Tool: Talk about making something light-years better! HubSpot has now moved the Prospect tool to its rightful home in the sales side of things. Within Prospects, you can now build a view, subscribe to a view and receive a daily digest of the targeted companies you wish to sell to. A.k.a stop that cold calling pronto and start having more warm, friendly phone conversations!

2. Sidekick Connections: Another new enhancement to surface connections within your network, this addition will enable mutual connections to appear on your sidebar in both the Prospects application and Salesforce. For example, if someone you know is connected to a prospect you’d wish to engage with, you can now ask that person to make an introduction from within Sidekick.

3. Sequences: Alright folks.....we are PUMPED about this one. Salespeople can now use Sidekick for Business to do simple, highly targeted nurturing of their prospects. In other words, you can now enroll a prospect to receive a sequence of templated emails right from inside Gmail or HubSpot’s CRM. This way, if a prospect who seems interested in your service decides to go on a vacation for a few weeks, you can automatically reengage with that person when they return and Sequences will notify you when this has taken place. I'd say it's a surefire way to keep a relationship cookin!

4. Sidekick for Business + Salesforce: Users will now have access to the Sidekick sidebar right inside Salesforce. This entails all functionality, including the ability to make calls right from within the sidebar. Having improved activity logging will also mean that email opens and clicks will appear in a prospect’s activity history, rounding out the list of activities we now sync in Salesforce.

5. @mentions: With HubSpot’s CRM, you can now mention a co-worker from any note space in the CRM and your colleague will receive an instant email notifying them of the mention.

6. Gmail Integration: CRM users will be able to pull their full history of interactions - including both sent and received messages from Gmail - into HubSpot CRM automatically.

7. Multiple Deal Pipelines: This will make it possible for teams to set up separate pipelines for different divisions, teams, or products inside HubSpot CRM.

So, why should you care?
