Congratulations! You’ve successfully driven hoards of traffic to your businesses website in 2013 and your product/service has captured the attention of the masses. Go ahead and pat yourself on the back, as doing this is an accomplishment in and of itself in today’s ultra-competitive internet marketplace.
But let’s keep the champagne bottles corked for the time being. The process of converting these visitors into paying customers is a daunting task and a critical point in reaching your inbound marketing goals. You’ll want to focus in on your buyer’s persona to cater your offerings to them in a perfectly wrapped package, most likely using a Call to Action that will increase landing page conversions.
Let’s begin with the basics.
What is a Call to Action?
Simply put, a Call to Action is a button or image placed on a page with the sole purpose of driving the user to your landing page. A quality CTA should grab the attention of the user by utilizing colors that pop and imagery that causes one to take an action such as:
- Adding a product to a shopping cart
- Downloading an eBook
- Requesting more information
This will be the door that will guide the customer through the rest of the marketing process and you’ll want to be certain that you’re doing it right.
To help, we’ve compiled 5 Call to Action examples that we like and will hopefully set you on your way to creating a captivating user experience on your own website.
The Examples
Dropbox

In this example, Dropbox does a great job of using a simple yet effective landing page to call the visitor to sign up for the service. The messaging is precise and to the point and the vivid blue color grabs the attention of the eye almost immediately. Although you can’t see it in this screenshot, the computer screen displays a brief animation of how Dropbox works.
Skype

This example is from the popular chat application, Skype. While the messaging is more in depth the endgame remains the same – build a bridge to the user using attractive copy and stimulating visuals while giving them what they want – more information on an amazing communication service.
AdRoll

Adroll takes the road less traveled but effectively inserts a fun, info filled video into the mix. The two buttons that stand out are “Try It Out” and “Start Your Free Trial.” AdRoll effectively educates the potential customer about the service using the video and then presents them an option to either “Try” or “Start.”
MailChimp

MailChimp supplies us with another great example. They utilize a screenshot of an email sent using their email marketing platform. On the right, you’ll see clear messaging that is critical to the continuation of the marketing funnel, urging the user to join the “Millions of Others.” The “Sign up Free” button is the real winner as the wording is about as straightforward as it can get.
Uber

Popular new app, Uber has done a great job with their imagery during the initial drive into the market. They give off a very stylish, high class feel that is sure to attract both business folks in need of a driver as well as private drivers qualified to do the job. The use of the black and white background goes a long way to enhance this CTA’s allure.
