It's Friday, which means it's time for another segment of Weekly Roundup! This week there was a lot of happenstances to cover, so we'll jump right in.
With The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug hitting theaters soon, Google Chrome decided to extend their incredibly intuitive mapping software to the fictional universe of J.R.R. Tolkiens award winning fantasy novels. So if you need a little extra excitement for the upcoming epic, and you're into maps (who isn't?) then this is the perfect digression from that project that you had due yesterday.

Ad of the Week: Tullamore Dew
I may be alone here (doubtful), but this might be one of the most clever ads I've seen in a while. I don't want to give anything away, as it builds on mystery--but know that this demands your attention. Or maybe a walk to the nearest rocks glass.
Genius.
Sh#t Products? No Problem.
In an interview, Kanye West recently called out the head of Zappos for making "below average" products:
"I got into this giant argument with the head of Zappos that he's trying to tell me what to focus on," West told the podcast's host, Bret Easton Ellis. "Meanwhile, he sells all this shit product to everybody, his whole thing is based off of selling shit product."
The problem is, how can Kanye possibly gauge the quality of anything since he's so far and above the rest of us mere peasants? His work's certainly cut out for him. Regardless, Zappos responded in kind by posting this on their site:

Right On Target?
Target recently released a brand new web design which is generating some buzz across the industry--mostly due to its overuse of drop shadowing, forcing the buckets to look like their levitating above the page. It works when it's minimal, but there's a "Holy ______ Batman!!" phrase somewhere for this.
#LookUp
British Airways are turning heads with their new interactive billboard that showcases a young child in awe following the planes as they take off. It's certainly engaging, and shows that even in today's day and age, creativity is alive and well.
