One of the big fishes in 2013 is content production. It's a value that Google highly regards, and it's weighted heavily in their online ranking system for your company's website. So do yourself a favor this year, and make it your goal to get noticed with some tips to freshen up your content.

1. Increase Blog Post Frequency
Corporate blogs were big in 2012, and that trend will continue as we make our way into the meat of 2013. According to Hubspot, 57% of companies that have a blog have acquired a customer from their blog. The question that follows is, how frequently was each of those companies adding new content? The 57% is sure to rise as your post frequency does, as a high frequency attracts new visitors. Each new post is a new entry into Google's ranking through SEO (search engine optimization), which you can think of as another door being added to your company's site. Also, that high posting frequency will help to retain those customers, giving them a substantial reason to keep checking back. Make it a no-brainer.
2. Keep Up To Date With Your Marketing Education
By dedicating yourself to your marketing education, you're helping to ensure that you are one of the top dogs when it comes to the latest trends and practices around the inbound marketing industry, where the name of the game has always been keeping ahead of the competition. A great practice you should readily adopt is reading (whether that be an article, journal, or eBook) once a day to help keep you focused and relevent. Even watching old webinars or listening to an industry podcast on your commute to work can help to keep your view of the market well-rounded and justly influenced.
3. Provide New Content Creators
If you're the only person in charge of your company's blog, a good goal for both yourself and your employer is to bring on another content producer. Not only will it help keep the blog fresh by adding a different perspective to the subject material, but it also gives the writing candor by providing a new author who can bring in a fresh readership. Also, adding a new writer could potentially help with your other inbound marketing goals for 2013 by increasing your blog post frequency. Always be aiming for a higher frequency and remember to push yourself.
4. Push For Quality AND Quantity
Everyone knows that quality beats out quantity most days, but why make it a competition? Have the best of both worlds by pushing out quality content at a quicker rate! Not only will it jumpstart your SEO efforts, but it will add a tangible trust to your readership that they may find hard to relinquish. If the frequency of those quality posts is able to rise, you'll find yourself in a comfortable situation with both leads and Google ranking. It's easy to be lazy, otherwise no one would be, but the hard work will pay in time.
5. Create A Killer Website
So you've put in all this effort...writing, and studying, and pushing your content out the door, and for what? Remember, you're trying to generate more leads in order to grow your business. So why go through all that trouble if your website leaves a nasty taste in the mouths of your customers? I can't answer that, as it should be painfully obvious in today's interconnected world: your website represents your company and there's nothing worse than a bad first impression, especially on the internet where opinions and critiques are taken as law.
Your site should be:
- fast
- fluid
- forward thinking

BUT, you need to make sure it all works together!

One of the most important takeaways from this article should be making sure that all of the steps work together. Each one affects the others, so it's important to build them up together. Inbound marketing, in general, is a slow process that starts with a base and builds from the foundation and upwards. Keep it consistent, and you'll find success.
