Spring is a wonderful time of year. It brings warmer temperatures and new growth. Flowers and plants start to bloom and you have found a little skip in your step. Perhaps you have gotten the chance to roll the windows down in the car and crank some good music and maybe you've been spotted singing in your car at the stop light.

With warmer temperatures come better moods and brighter spirits! We are coming out of the gloomy days of winter! So while your mind is fresh, why not put that energy into coloring up your marketing!

What do I mean?

Marketing can easily become stagnant. If you have gotten in the rut of doing the same tactics over and over again and you haven't seen any results, grab the duster and start dusting! Below are 5 simple steps you can do to easily polish your brand for that freshness we all need around this time every year!

Step 1:

Freshen up your website and social media. When was the last time you updated the content on your home page? Took a good hard look at your messaging? Does it speak to your buyer persona's challenges or does it talk about how awesome your company is? Does it tell your new visitors exactly how your service or product solves those challenges at first glance?

When was the last time you updated your social profiles? Do all of your social profiles have the same message? Same address, phone number and website? This is extremely important to Google. Your NAP (name, address, phone number) must be the same on all on online profiles to maximize search results.

Have you had the same cover photo? It's Spring! Time to freshen up that image! Take advantage of some new features. For instance, the new Call-To-Action feature on Facebook.

Step 2:

New content marketing campaign. Schedule a brainstorming session with your business development team and marketing team and re-visit your target personas' challenges. Discuss 3 to 5 important factors your customers face before they become a customer. Build out a content strategy that speaks to those challenges in the form of blog topics and downloadable content like whitepapers, slideshares and webinars. Make sure every piece of content you develop matches each challenge at each stage in the buyer journey. Step 3:

Brighten up your business with better design. It's no secret that we are visual people and with so much content out there to compete with, adding design elements to your marketing efforts speak in large volumes. If you have an idea for a piece of content, think about how you can turn that into more of a visual piece of content that can be easily viewed and understood on mobile devices and tablets. Your content doesn't have to be boring. Give it life by adding images and design that speak to your audience. If you can illustrate your message with a picture, video or a GIF, add it! You are sure to create or revise a piece of content for that anti-boredom factor.

Step 4:

Spring-up your emails! Whether you are B2B or B2C, you have a great opportunity to hack your emails for Spring! Everyone is looking for fresh content, great deals and a new start! Be sure to mention a sale and/or the word Spring in your subject lines. Work the angle of "freshening up your life", and focus your content around helpful topics for your clients or prospects. This is not a time to sell, but a time to connect with those "renewal" emotions.

Step 5:

Freshen up your work space. Whether you work in a large office with a nice lobby or a smaller space, a little re-arranging and declutter can do wonders for your team's motivation. Get the whole office involved and throw a spring-cleaning party. Pour some fun Spring-inspired cocktails and move some desks around. Add some color to create a fresh ambiance. Take advantage of color, natural light and space. Green up office space with a plant or two. If you have the time and funds, add blues and greens to your office space, as research has shown those colors have been shown to enhance performance on generating new ideas. Red has been linked to improving performance on tasks that involve attention to detail. If nothing else, getting your team involved in a Spring-cleaning activity will enhance anyone's mood and promotes good team-building fun!
